Learn to Sail Clinic – Beginner

Cost: $175 for non-members, $125 for SAYC members

The beginner clinic consists of a six-hour day filled with classroom lessons, rigging demonstrations, land drills, a long water session, de-rigging and de-brief. In the beginner clinic you will learn these skills on the International 420 Class Dinghy Sailboat:

·       Parts of the Boat     

·       Points of Sail & Sail Trim

·       Sail Theory, Tacking & Gybing, Boat Handling

·       Rules of the Road

·       Rigging and De-rigging

Breakdown of the day is as follows:

1.     2 hours of on-land instruction, including rigging demonstration

2.     1 hour lunch break – Q&A with tacking & gybing exercise

3.     2 hour on-water session – boat handling, sailing

4.     1 hour de-rigging & de-brief
