SAYC Sailing Center Home School Program
What better enrichment activity is there other than time outdoors and on the water? At SAYCSC, we specialize in youth sailing education and employ US Sailing certified instructors to lead all our on-water programs.
Our new Home School program is designed for middle and high school aged children and is a comprehensive program in which students will receive progressive sail training and classroom lessons. Your child will come to us from 9:00am - 3:00pm once a week for 10 weeks (you choose either a Tuesday or Wednesday group), learning step by step how to rig, launch, sail upwind and downwind, dock, repair and maintain their sailboats. Classroom sessions will cover physics of sailing, marine engineering, navigation and more. Through this comprehensive program, your child will receive a strong sailing foundation as well as a physical portfolio containing a log of educational activities and a skills assessment and checklist.
This program is designed to be attended in the spring session as well, providing a 120-hour course which enables home school families to use this as an official course credit for transcripts for high school or college admissions. Please note, SAYC Sailing Center is an approved provider with the Florida Step Up program and will have Direct Pay provider status by the info night in August!

Please note, our hope at the second parent info night is to finalize what days of the week and what age groups we will offer this fall. Please register and attend to share your feedback with us! Meeting the needs of our home school community is our ultimate goal and we are open to all possibilities and options!
