The beginner clinic consists of a six-hour day filled with classroom lessons, rigging demonstrations, land drills, a long water session, de-rigging and de-brief. In the beginner clinic you will learn these skills on the Flying Scot and Hobie Getaway sailboast:

Tacking & Gybing Mechanics

Rigging and De-rigging

Rules of the Road

Breakdown of the day is as follows:

1.     2 hours of on-land instruction, including rigging demonstration

2.     1 hour lunch break w/ Q&A + tacking & gybing exercise off dock

3.     2 hour on-water session – boat handling, sailing upwind and downwind

4.     1 hour de-rigging & de-brief
