WEDNESDAY PROGRAM - HOME SCHOOL SAILING

Our new Home School program is designed for middle and high school aged children and is a comprehensive program in which students will receive progressive sail training and classroom lessons. Your child will come to us from 9:00am - 3:00pm once a week for 10 weeks, learning step by step how to rig, launch, sail upwind and downwind, dock, repair and maintain their sailboats (instruction predominantly on 420 sailboats pictured below, students may also sail Hobie Waves and J24s). Classroom sessions will cover physics of sailing, marine engineering, navigation and more. Through this comprehensive program, your child will receive a strong sailing foundation as well as a physical portfolio containing a log of educational activities and a skills assessment and checklist. 

This program is designed to be attended in the spring session as well, providing a 120-hour course which enables home school families to use this as an official course credit for transcripts for high school or college admissions. Please note, SAYC Sailing Center is an approved provider with the Florida Step Up program.

Fall Session Dates - Wednesday Option: September 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th, October 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th, & November 4th 

Please note, we are open to hosting multiple days and multiple age groups. Those days of the week and age groups will be decided upon after our Parent Meeting on August 12th. Feel free to register your child within this Wednesday program to hold your spot, and kindly note your preferred day of the week (Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday) in the comments section on the registration page. Preferred days of the week listed may not be available. Staff will contact and confirm with all who register.

Group minimum is 6, maximum is 12.
